Olympic Fencing
Foil, epee, and sabre instruction for competitive and recreational fencers.
Santa Rosa, CA · Est. 2008
Olympic fencing, Historical European Martial Arts, archery, and more for ages 5 and up, a welcoming community since 2008.
Our story
En Garde Fencing was founded in 2008 to create a fencing community in Santa Rosa where everyone is welcome to learn the art of the sword. It started in a rented church room, with practice on the altar stage, moved to the Odd Fellows Hall, and now trains at its own studio on Piner Road.
Owner and coach Jim Liebich is known for the rare balance of strict and silly that makes a great coach, and for making every newcomer feel welcome. The club teaches group classes for ages five and up across Olympic fencing, Historical European Martial Arts, archery, and more, with members who have trained here for the better part of a decade.
