Our story
A Family-Run Operation
Char Vale is a family-owned vineyard and winery in the renowned Green Valley of the Russian River Valley appellation in Sonoma County. We farm ten contiguous acres of world-class grape varietals, and our newly renovated tasting room — set in the original family farmhouse — sits just one mile west of Highway 116 on Occidental Road.
Founded in 2014, we are proud to pour award-winning estate Pinot Noir, estate Rosé of Pinot Noir, estate Riesling, single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. As a true micro-winery producing only a small number of cases per varietal, every pour is poured with care.
The vibe at Char Vale is friendly, intimate and unpretentious. Tastings are seated, overlooking or right next to the vines, and the deck facing the vineyard makes the perfect backdrop for a glass of Pinot Noir.
