Our Story

CAST Wines opened in 2012 when founding proprietor Jack Seifrick and a small group of friends fell under the spell of a beautiful property in Sonoma's Dry Creek Valley. The name comes from the spell that was cast over them on that first visit — a feeling they have worked to preserve and share ever since.

The wines are made by Mikael Gulyash, a Northern California native who has spent virtually his entire career in the Sonoma County wine business. After earning a degree in organic chemistry, he honed his craft at Sonoma's legendary Jordan Estate before becoming a winemaker in his own right.

CAST has farmed sustainably since day one, and the estate vineyard is now officially CCOF Certified Organic under the USDA National Organic Program. The result is a boutique, limited-production portfolio that reflects both the land and the care behind it.
