Downtown Santa Rosa · Belgian chocolate · gourmet foods

Brussels, by way of Fourth Street.

Steinhouse is a Belgian chocolate shop in downtown Santa Rosa, run by Eric Dewit — a chocolatier who came over from Brussels. Bars and truffles imported from Belgium, chocolate sauce and popcorn, and a small gourmet pantry gathered from Sonoma to Europe.

The shop

Chocolate first, then everything good next to it.

Imported and locally made chocolate up front, a carefully chosen gourmet pantry all around it.

01

Belgian chocolate

Bars and truffles imported from Belgium, alongside a new line made exclusively for the shop by a Belgian chocolatier living in Napa.

02

Truffles & sauce

Hand-made truffles, chocolate sauce and chocolate-covered popcorn — the small indulgences the shop is known for.

03

Candy & waffles

Hard candy, licorice and Belgian waffles — the sweets Eric grew up with, brought over from Brussels.

04

The gourmet pantry

Sonoma County honey, New Hampshire maple, French jam and mustard, Italian olive oil, English tea — a small, well-chosen larder.

The chocolatier

Eric Dewit brought Belgium with him.

Eric moved to the States from Brussels and first opened a Belgian chocolate shop in Mendocino, specializing in chocolate imported from Belgium and truffles made by hand. Steinhouse is where that work landed in Santa Rosa — and the shop recently added a line made exclusively for it by a Belgian chocolatier living in Napa.
