Preventive Care
Gentle exams, cleanings, digital X-rays and fluoride — building healthy habits from the very first tooth.
Pediatric dentistry · Sebastopol & Windsor
A warm, gentle, genuinely kid-friendly practice for infants, children, teens and kids with special healthcare needs — run by a second-generation Sonoma County family since 1998.
A second-generation family practice
Dr. Rob Oliver grew up here in Sonoma County. In 1998, when his father — also a pediatric dentist — retired, Rob took over the rural practice his family had built. The first office was a converted goat-milking barn on the family property, with his grandmother working the front desk in the early days.
That same warmth still runs the show. As word spread, the practice outgrew the barn, and in 2006 a second office opened in Windsor. Two generations later, the mission hasn't changed: specialized dentistry for children and adolescents in a warm, caring, child-friendly environment.
What we do
From a first “happy visit” to sealants, gentle fillings and comfort options for anxious kids — care matched to each child, at every age.
Gentle exams, cleanings, digital X-rays and fluoride — building healthy habits from the very first tooth.
Quick, painless protection for the deep grooves of new molars, where cavities love to hide.
Tooth-colored fillings and air-abrasion technique that often means less drilling and less fuss.
From nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) to mild and IV sedation — matched to your child and their comfort.
A patient, welcoming practice for infants, children, teens and children with special healthcare needs.
Knocked-out tooth, a bad ache, a playground tumble? Call us — kids' emergencies don't wait.
The first visit
Most kids walk out asking when they can come back. Here's how a typical first appointment goes.
A warm welcome, a tour, and time for your child to get comfy before anything else happens. No rushing.
We count teeth, take a peek, and explain everything in kid-language — “tooth counter,” “tickle brush,” “magic camera.”
A gentle cleaning, fluoride, and sealants when they're helpful. Comfort options like nitrous are there if needed.
We sit down with you, answer every question, and build a simple plan to keep that smile healthy at home.

Good questions
Still wondering about something? A real person answers the phone — call us anytime.
The general guidance is by their first birthday, or within six months of that first tooth. Early “happy visits” keep things easy and head off problems before they start — and give us a chance to coach you on home care.
Gently, and at their pace. We explain everything in kid-language, never rush, and offer comfort options ranging from nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) to mild and IV sedation when they're the right fit. Most nervous kids leave proud of themselves.
Yes — warmly and routinely. We care for infants, children, teens and kids with special healthcare needs, and Dr. Mauger has a particular focus in this area.
