Paul and Jessica once sold their handcrafted leather from the smallest storefront in Amsterdam. Today they work out of the smallest store on the Sonoma Plaza — same hands, same old-world craft, same belief that a good piece of leather should last a lifetime.

The Craft

Old school, on purpose.

No outsourcing, no shortcuts. Three steps, all under one small roof, exactly the way Paul learned it in Europe half a century ago.

    Every piece starts on our own bench — our patterns, our lines, no catalogue.

    Cut

    We choose the hides and cut the leather ourselves, by hand.

    Stitch

    All the stitching, all the finishing — done in-house, the old-school way.

The Makers

Amsterdam to Sonoma.

Paul Terwilliger grew up in the Bay Area, then wandered through Europe and India before landing in Amsterdam, where he taught himself the art of leather. A young waitress named Jessica caught his eye — he asked her out, then taught her the craft, and together they ran two shops in the heart of the city.

After sixteen years on Amsterdam's Waterloo Plein, the road led back west to the coast where Paul was raised. They set up shop in Sonoma — the same hands, the same standards, now on the Plaza.

That's the whole point. We design our products, choose the hides, cut the leather and do all the stitching — everything. It's how we've worked for decades, first in Amsterdam and now in Sonoma.

We're the smallest store on the Sonoma Plaza, at 481 A First Street West. Small shop, a lot of leather — come find us.

Belts, wallets, bags of every kind — shoulder, cross-body, carry-on, backpacks and exotics — plus watch bands, hats, gloves and leather home décor. Gift certificates are available too.

Thursday through Monday, 11am to 6pm. We're closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
